Johnny Turk's History
I joined schoolmates Abe Feler, Steve DeYoung, and Ian Cooney at the age of 15 to form my first
band in the suburbs of Montreal, Canada and have been rocking ever since.
Over the years, my love for music grew along with my ability to play multiple instruments including the mandolin,
flute, sax, guitar, and bass.
I have studied classical and jazz guitar extensively with several Dennis Sandole disciples
including Rick Giordano, Bill Walton, and Jimmy Zalesky. I've also participated in the music
performance program at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) as a voice major and
performed in a number of operas including La Traviatta, Les Mamelles, and HMS Pinafore.
I've played in various rock and pop bands over the years including Magic Bus, Jasper,
The Johnny Turk Band, and Smash Radio.
